Description
Converts an M12 x 1.00 metric thread to a No.4 JIC port, which is 7/16-20 with a 37 degree flare seat. It lets an M12 threaded caliper, master cylinder or line feed JIC flared hose or braided line without replacing the metric component for something else.
The thing to check before ordering is the pitch. M12 turns up on brake hardware in both 1.00 and 1.50, and the two will start to thread together before they bind, so measure or count threads rather than going by the fitting looking right.
Worth knowing as well: a No.4 JIC seat is 37 degrees and an SAE inverted flare is 45. They look similar and they are not interchangeable. A 45 degree flare pulled into a 37 degree seat touches on one ring and weeps under pedal pressure.
