Description
Silver brazing rods with the flux already bonded to the rod, sold eight to a pack. There is no separate flux paste to mix, apply or clean off afterwards, which matters when you are under a car with one hand on the torch.
Silver brazing joins a fitting to brake tube at a lower temperature than welding does, so the thin wall of a 3/16 or 1/4 inch line does not burn through the way it can under a MIG tip. That is why it is the usual method for putting a banjo head, a weld-on adaptor or a bracket onto hard line on a custom build.
Braze a test joint on offcut tube and pressure check it before you do the one that ends up on the car.
